Rewind: 2013 MusicRow Events

MusicRow looks back on its 2013 events including the MusicRow Chart Annual Airplay Awards during CRS, the second annual Rising Women On The Row breakfast and the reader-voted MusicRow Awards.

MusicRow Magazine presented its 25th annual subscriber-voted MusicRow Awards on June 25 during a ceremony hosted by ASCAP at the organization’s Nashville offices. The awards event, led by MusicRow Publisher and Owner Sherod Robertson, recognized the 2013 Breakthrough Artist, Breakthrough Songwriter, Song of the Year and Producer of the Year. Additionally, Top Ten Album All-Star Musician Awards were presented to session players who performed on the most top ten albums during the eligibility period. Kacey Musgraves took home Breakthrough Artist and Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year. “I Drive Your Truck,” penned by Connie Harrington, Jessi Alexander and Jimmy Yeary, tied for Song of the Year with “Merry Go ‘Round,” written by Kacey Musgraves, Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne. The Producer of the Year honor went to Dann Huff.

MusicRow‘s 2013 Rising Women on the Row event honored the CMA’s Brandi Simms, publicist Cindy Hunt, Creative Nation’s Beth Laird, UMG Nashville’s Cindy Mabe and Universal Music Publishing Group’s Cyndi Forman. Mary Ann McCready of business management firm Flood, Bumstead, McCready & McCarthy was interviewed during the event, which took place at Maggiano’s in Nashville on March 22.

MusicRow Magazine presented its 11th annual CountryBreakout Awards at Margaritaville in Nashville on Feb. 26, 2013. Entertainers at the event included Streamsound Recording artist Jaida Dreyer, whose debut album, I Am Jaida Dreyer, was released that very morning. Additionally, the showcase featured sibling trio, High Valley.

The CountryBreakout Awards recognize success at radio on the MusicRow chart during the preceding year (January to December 2012). A list of award recipients is below.
