Nashville notched a series-low rating last night (Jan. 15), nailing down a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating. About 5.05 million viewers tuned in. This is the first new episode of the ABC series in several weeks. Nashville’s ratings are expected to improve after DVR numbers are factored in.

American Idol was also in a slump last night. The season premiere was one of the lowest rated in its 13 seasons, earning a 4.7 adults 18-49, and attracting 15 million viewers overall. The premiere was up 31 percent from last season’s finale, which earned a 3.6.

The premiere of A&E’s Crazy Hearts: Nashville secured almost 2 million viewers and a .8 rating.
