Patty Griffin

Patty Griffin will launch her latest tour on Oct. 10 in her home city of Austin, with tour dates set to run through Oct. 26 in Dallas. The tour will support Griffin’s album American Kid (New West). The singer-songwriter will visit Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on Oct. 21 (with Scott Miller opening).

The tour also coincides with the release of the project Silver Bell (Universal)–an album that was recorded in 2000 and shelved after a change in label ownership. In 2010, she recorded Downtown Church and became a member of Band of Joy, alongside Robert Plant.

Despite the lack of label release, some tracks from Silver Bell have made their way to listeners, via cover recordings. The Dixie Chicks covered “Top of the World” and “Truth #2” on their 2002 album Home; Natalie Maines also recorded Silver Bell‘s title track for her recent album, Mother.
