Steel guitarist/producer Don Davis recently released a book offering an insider account of the Nashville music industry during the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s. Nashville Steeler: My Life in Country Music released on Dec. 28 via Schiffer Publishing.
In the book, Davis recalls stories of working with The Carter Family, Chet Atkins, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, along with record label personalities and fans.
Davis began his career playing on the Grand Ole Opry as a member of Pee Wee King’s Golden West Cowboys. Davis is a member of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. He later became a producer and moved to Mobile, Ala., where he hosted the show Alabama Jubilee, which ran on WKRG.
