Diane Warren
Songwriter Diane Warren will be honored with the “International Music Person of the Year” award at the 2014 Musexpo, which will be held in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel on April 6-9, 2014.
Warren, founder of Realsongs/Diane Warren Music Publishing, has had songs in more than 100 motion pictures, and has been nominated for nine Grammy awards, six Academy Awards and five Golden Globes. She penned songs recorded by LeAnn Rimes (“Can’t Fight The Moonlight,” “How Do I Live”), Trisha Yearwood (“How Do I Live”), Faith Hill (“There You’ll Be” from the film Pearl Harbor and “Just To Hear You Say That You Love Me” with Tim McGraw), Carrie Underwood (“Some Hearts”), Reba McEntire (“What If”) and Sara Evans (“I Could Not Ask For More”) as well as Celine Dion (Warren won a Grammy award for Dion’s “Because You Loved Me” from Up Close and Personal), Aerosmith, Beyonce, Cher, Whitney Houston and Christina Aguilera, among others.
Recent past winners of the honor include Australian music executive Michael Chugg and Sire Records founder Seymour Stein.
