Michael W. Smith Signs With New Label

Michael W. Smith has exited Provident Music Group, securing a new recording agreement with Capitol Christian Music Group (formerly EMI Christian Music Group), according to Smith’s management.

Smith signed with Reunion Records in 1983, when he released The Michael W. Smith Project. Reunion Records later joined as part of Sony Music’s Christian division, Provident Music Group. Smith has earned three Grammy awards and more than 30 Dove Awards in his 30-year career.

Smith is currently working on his upcoming album, slated for release in spring 2014.
