Mark Wills, known for hits including “19 Something,” “Don’t Laugh At Me,” and “Wish You Were Here,” will soon become the next member of the Grand Ole Opry. On Dec. 21, 2018, Vince Gill stepped onto the Opry stage to invite Wills to become the next member of the iconic organization.

“This boy has been the greatest supporter and proponent of what the Opry stands for,” Gill said.

“I would love to be the next member of the Grand Ole Opry,” Wills said, before closing out the evening with a performance of his 1998 hit, “Don’t Laugh At Me.”

Wills’ Opry induction will take place on Friday, Jan. 11.
