Pennington Entertainment, Meghan Linsey Part Ways

Pennington Entertainment, led by Shawn Pennington, and Meghan Linsey, NBC’s The Voice alumna and former member of country duo Steel Magnolia, have mutually decided to end their working relationship and part ways.

Pennington Entertainment was launched in March 2016. Its roster includes Thompson Square, Parmalee, and The Hillbilly Way.

 

CRS/CRB Accepting Applications For Rusty Walker Scholarships

Country Radio Broadcasters are now accepting applications for the Rusty Walker Scholarship program, which provides three individual scholarships for an all-expense paid trip and attendance to CRS 2017, to be held Feb. 22-24, 2017.

Interested parties can apply now through Monday, Nov. 7, 2016 at www.countryradioseminar.com and click on the Rusty Walker Scholarship link.  Eligible applicants must be a full-time radio station employee and a first time CRS attendee.

Scholars will be recognized at the CRS 2017 opening ceremonies and will have the opportunity to meet and engage with CRS board members during the three-day seminar.

The Rusty Walker Scholarship program is named in honor of Country Radio Hall of Fame member Rusty Walker, who passed away in May 2012 at the age of 59.

MV2 Entertainment has added Thomas Archer to its roster, where he joins writers Bart Allmand, Robert Arthur, Nora Collins, David Fanning, and Terry McBride.

“We are excited to have Thomas here at MV2. He is a great writer at the beginning of a great career!” said General Manager Tony Harrell.

The Georgia native moved to Nashville after graduating college in 2012 with a degree in accounting. In February 2014, Thomas signed his first publishing deal with BMG where he would have several cuts by Jordan Rager, Colt Ford, Walker Hayes and many others. He is a co-writer on Luke Combs’ debut single, “Hurricane.”

MV2 (Mission, Vision, Values) was formed by industry veterans Clay Myers and Harrell along with James Archer and the executive team of Blake Gage and Harold Johnson.

Music Makers Bootcamp will return in 2017, running from Jan. 26-28. The exclusive 40-spot offering geared towards producers, songwriters and artists includes live training on hot topics like selling music online, mixing, writing songs that last and more.

Music Makers Bootcamp will be held at Sound Kitchen Studios in Franklin, Tennessee. The panel of educators include Seth Mosley (GRAMMY® Winning Music Producer/Songwriter), Benji Cowart (Chart-Topping Songwriter), Matt Hammitt (Hit Artist and Songwriter), Sean Moffitt (Multi-Platinum Mix Engineer), Mike X. O’Connor (GRAMMY® Winning Music Producer) and Ben Calhoun (Songwriter, Citizen Way Frontman).
