Arts and Business Council, MusiCares Partner For Recording Contract Seminar

unnamedThe Arts and Business council and MusiCares are partnering to present a seminar on The Anatomy of a Recording Contract with Nashville attorney David Crow on Oct. 25 from Noon-1 p.m. at the MusiCares headquarters at 1904 Wedgewood Ave. The seminar will cover the different types of recording contracts, key terms and provisions, and provide insight into how these contracts are formed in the industry today.

Seminar registration is $10 for Arts and Business Council Members and $15 for non-members and can be obtained here.

 

Sixth Annual Touring Career Workshop Slated For Nov. 9

unnamed-3The sixth annual Touring Career Workshop will be held at Soundcheck’s Nashville Annex on Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. The seminar will tackle topics including retirement options, part-time parenting, contracts, tax information, staying fit on the road, and many others. Guest speakers include Erik Leighty (Paramore, Miranda Lambert), Mark Miles, (Miranda Lambert, IEBA), Jim Runge, (The Black Keys, Empire of the Sun) and Randy Fletcher, Keith Urban’s production manager, who will present a keynote speech on the evolvement of the touring industry.

Music and Memory Celebrates 3,000 Certified Organizations

unnamed-2Music and Memory, a non-profit organization that trains assisted living centers, nursing homes, and other facilities how to use music to help those with cognitive conditions like alzheimers and dementia, has now certified over 3000 organizations across the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Europe, including one in Nashville. In the past eight months alone the organization has added 1000 new facilities.
