Dylan Scott’s “My Girl” Goes Gold
Dylan Scott’s hit “My Girl” has earned gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Featured on his self-titled debut album, Scott penned the song about his wife and all the little things he gets to see in her that no one else does. This month, Scott checked another career milestone off by headlining a sold-out show at the Troubadour in Los Angeles as part of his My Town Tour.
Harper Grae Visits Devon O’Day
Recording artist Harper Grae premiered her new single, “Dear Daddy,” on WSM Radio during Devon O’Day’s afternoon drive show. Grae co-wrote the song with Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame member Pat Alger, who joined Grae on-air live to perform the song. “Dear Daddy” released on June 16.
Houston Livestock Show And Rodeo Restructures
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has elected not to renew the contract of Chief Operating Officer Dan Cheney. Cheney joined the Show in 2014 after serving as the CEO of Cheyenne Frontier Days starting in 2010. Last week, the Show also eliminated the position of general manager held by Joe Bruce Hancock. Hancock was a nine-year employee and remains a Lifetime Vice President.
Finney Media Finds Women Are Primary Christian Radio Listeners
Women dominate the listenership of Christian radio stations in both music and talk formats, according to research conducted by Dallas-based Finney Media. Finney surveyed more than 23,000 listeners at 72 radio stations, networks and programs on the relevant formats of Music, Music & Talk, Teaching and Spoken Word for the study.
“We found that women can make up three-quarters of a Christian radio station’s listenership,” said Chuck Finney, President of Finney Media. “That is the type of information that can help Christian stations understand their market needs better, and adapt where necessary.”
