Hunter Hayes Opens CMA Exhibit In Arizona

Hunter Hayes officially opened a new multimedia exhibit celebrating CMA-winning musicians on Monday (Oct. 24) at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, Arizona.

The exhibit features instruments on display from former CMA Musicians of the Year Roy Clark, Jerry Douglas, Mac McAnally, and Mark O’Connor, as well as recorded performances by Alison Krauss, Barbara Mandrell, and Dolly Parton, celebrating the music makers.

Hayes was joined by Rosaria and Salvatore Papandrea, who are students at Rosie’s House, a CMA Foundation beneficiary that provides classical musical instruction to underserved children. The brother/sister pair performed “Gavotte,” a composition by P. Martini. Board members and staff from the Phoenix Conservatory of Music, also a CMA Foundation beneficiary, were in attendance.

Radney Foster, Slyvie Davidson, Kristian Bush Set For New Musical Troubadour

Atlanta, Georgia’s Alliance Theatre has announced the cast and crew for its upcoming world premiere musical, Troubadour, by playwright Janece Shaffer. Nashville singer-songwriter Kristian Bush will provide original music for the production.

Singer-songwriter and musician Radney Foster and Nashville-based singer-songwriter Slyvie Davidson are among the cast members, as well as Atlanta-based actors Andrew Benator, Bethany Anne Lind, and Zach Seabaugh.

Set in 1950s Nashville, Troubadour is a romantic comedy about an unlikely group of friends whose unconventional style changes the course of country music. Troubadour runs on the Alliance Stage from Jan. 18 – Feb. 12, 2017.

Martina McBride, Little Big Town Band Against Cancer

A star-studded collection of artists lent their voices to Band Against Cancer: The Sarah Cannon Tour on Oct. 25 as part of a special Grand Ole Opry performance, celebrating a successful run of shows to support blood cancer awareness.

Martina McBride led the five-city charge before the tour’s final stop in Nashville alongside friends Little Big Town, Cassadee Pope, Scotty McCreery, The Cadillac Three, Charles Esten and John Conlee. Thompson Square and newcomer Hudson Moore were a part of the tour’s previous stops.

The tour and accompanying national media campaign, both anchored by McBride, generated more than 500 million impressions that have contributed to the support and education of community-based cancer resources including the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
