Christian singer-songwriter Amy Grant and Country singer-songwriter Mark Collie are currently taking part in the production of an independent film in Nashville, according to the Nashville Business Journal.

The movie, titled The Secret Handshake, will be produced by local production and content creation company Town Square Pictures. Town Square Pictures’ Howard Klausner is serving as director of the project. Klausner began his movie career in the writing side of the industry; his writing credits include Clint Eastwood’s Space Cowboys and the Hank Williams biopic The Last Ride.

The family film focuses on a father trying to raise three girls in the suburbs; the girls attract the attention of trouble-making neighborhood boys. Grant will play the mother of one of the “trouble-making” boys.

Collie is best-known for the songs “Even The Man In The Moon Is Crying” and “Born To Love You,” and has appeared in movies including 1999’s I Still Miss Someone, 1997’s Fire Down Below and 2004’s The Punisher. He will also take part in the documentary The Mountain, directed by Ken Mandel (the trailer for the documentary can be seen here).

Grant released her 15th full-length studio album, How Mercy Looks From Here, in 2013.

The Secret Handshake is slated to release in 2014.
