Country artists lined up for a special Grand Ole Opry performance last night (Sept. 23) to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Country Cares for St. Jude Kids. Charlie Daniels Band, Eric Paslay, Bill Anderson, Alabama’s Randy Owen, Maddie & Tae (in their Opry debut), as well as ABC’s Nashville cast members Jonathan Jackson and Sam Palladio all took part in the event. Additionally, Brad Paisley performed an extended set, including hits and music from his new album Moonshine In The Trunk.
Opry guest announcer Audrey Stanger, a 9-year-old St. Jude patient, was surprised onstage by Charlie Daniels with a dozen roses and an autographed guitar.
A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales were donated to Country Cares for St. Jude Kids.
