Garth Brooks Announces ‘Gunslinger’ As New Album Title

Garth Gunslinger

Garth Brooks has revealed the title – Gunslinger – and the cover art for his new album. The album’s name and art were revealed during the entertainer’s weekly “Inside Studio G” Facebook series. The CD title first appeared over the weekend during the SEC Game of the Week on CBS, where Brooks’ new song “Pure Adrenaline” is the theme song, and he says the inspiration for the title struck when he was musing on the risk, energy, heart and unpredictability of his live shows.

“The album title came to me when somebody asked me what my favorite thing about being on the road was,” said Brooks. “I said ‘It just feels good to be out there being a Gunslinger again. Just aiming with the heart and shooting from the hip, that’s what you do on the stage, right? You’re a gunslinger out there. And each show’s different and you just shoot from the hip all night long.’ As soon I said it, I knew that was the album title right there.”

The first single from the album, “Baby, Let’s Lay Down and Dance,” debuted this week at No. 19 on the Billboard chart and is the most added song at country radio this week.

Gunslinger is Brooks’ 11th studio album, and will be released Nov. 25 on Pearl Records.
