Nancy Watson, daughter of Doc Watson, has meticulously crafted the 4-CD set Milestones: Legends of the Doc Watson Clan. The collection will release on April 30 on Open Records.
The set, produced by Roy Andrade (a member of the Bluegrass and Old Time Country Music Studies faculty at East Tennessee State University), boasts 94 unreleased songs and stories by Doc and other family members. It also contains collages of over 500 Watson family photos. The home recordings span from 1954–2007. Most of it was recorded for personal entertainment, and previously unavailable outside the Watson family.
