Fresh off winning the NSAI Songwriter/Artist of the Year this week, Cole Swindell celebrated his fifth No. 1 song as an artist on Thursday (Oct. 13) in Nashville.

The party was hosted by BMI’s Bradley Collins and ASCAP’s Beth Brinker. Representatives from Warner Music Nashville, Combustion Music, CRB, CMA, and Warner/Chappell were on hand to honor the song and its writers.

“You Should Be Here” was penned by Swindell and fellow NSAI Songwriter of the Year winning co-writer Ashley Gorley. The pair celebrated with industry friends and family at Swingin’ Doors in downtown Nashville, prior to Swindell’s gig opening for Florida Georgia Line on their Dig Your Roots Tour stop at Bridgestone Arena. “You Should Be Here” was Gorley’s 26th No. 1 and Swindell’s fifth consecutive No. 1 single as a solo artist.

The track is one of three country singles released this year to have been certified platinum by the RIAA.

On Oct. 26, Swindell will continue his year-long schedule on the road when he kicks off his own headlining CMT On Tour Presents the Cole Swindell Down Home Tour in tandem with the Oct. 28 release of his new EP, Down Home Sessions III.
