Country mainstay Clint Black will release On Purpose, his first all-new studio album in 10 years, on Sept. 25.

The self-produced 14-track album was recorded in California and at Black’s studio in Nashville. He will release the project on Blacktop Records, in association with Thirty Tigers.

On Purpose features “You Still Get to Me,” Black’s third duet with his wife, actress Lisa Hartman Black. Big and Rich is featured on “Beer,” a title written with Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famers Bill Anderson and Bob DiPiero. Additional songwriters contributing to the project include Frank Rogers, Steve Wariner, Victoria Shaw, James Stroud and Phil O’Donnell. Full track listing below.

On Purpose comes from a line in the song ‘Better and Worse,’” notes Black. “It represents my attitude towards life, in that it’s never easy to ‘go your own way,’ but the rewards are greater when you follow your heart. I know that’s what my fans expect from me, and I hope that they hear that in the songs on this album. Musically, On Purpose is right where I want to be. I pushed myself hard for this album, doing more of the guitar work, even playing slide guitar for the first time.”

This 2015 project marks Black’s 21st album overall, and 12th studio release. He has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and charted nearly two dozen No. 1 singles.
