Producer/songwriter Buddy Cannon, MusicRow’s 2004 Producer of the Year, is recovering at home after undergoing successful surgery to clear a blockage in his right side carotid artery.
The surgery was performed Tuesday morning at Vanderbilt Hospital. He was released Wednesday and is chilling out at home. The blockage was discovered after an ultrasound scan and surgery was deemed necessary. Cannon plans to resume daily activities next week.
Cannon currently produces Kenny Chesney, Ashton Shepherd and Ash Bowers. As a songwriter, he is responsible for country classics including “Set “Em Up Joe,” “Give It Away” and “I’ve Come To Expect It From You.”
