This past Wednesday (8/8), marked a lifetime milestone for Country Music Hall of Famer Mel Tillis, as he celebrated his 80th birthday. Tillis celebrated his 8th decade of life with a private party held at Honky Tonk Central, located on Broadway in the heart of Nashville, TN. About 400 of Tillis’ closest friends packed the party including daughter Pam Tillis, Charley Pride, Lorrie Morgan, Bobby Bare, Lee Brice, Jerrod Niemann, Alabama’s Jeff Cook, Eddie Raven, Jimmy C. Newman, Ira Dean, Meghan Linsey of Steel Magnolia, Bobby Goldsboro, Williams & Ree, Scotty Emerick, Deborah Allen, comedian Lonnie Shorr, former Dallas Cowboys football coach Barry Switzer, producers Buddy Cannon and Harold Shedd, GAC Headline Country host Storme Warren and many more.

Last Wednesday (8/8), Colby Dee donated her talents and time to perform at the National Women’s Survivors Convention (NWSC) announcement ceremony, along with fellow artists Darren Warren (a St. Jude survivor himself) and Brennin Hunt. All took the stage after a press conference announcement made by NWSC Founder, Karen Shayne, Nashville Mayor Karl Dean and Butch Spyridon, President and CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Columbia Nashville singer-songwriter Tyler Farr got a lesson in hits from Boxing Champion Roy Jones, Jr. in Destin, FL earlier this week. Farr is introducing his own hit to country radio now with his new single “Hello Goodbye.”
