In June YouTube expanded channel memberships, allowing creators to charge subscribers a $4.99 monthly fee. This week, Engadget is reporting the barrier to entry just got easier for creators.
Previously, channel memberships were only allowed for 100,000+ subscribers. Now channels with 50,000+ subscribers will be able to earn money directly from fans, rather than relying on money from ads.
