Olivia Records’ Judy Dlugacz & Cris Williamson have been announced as the honorees for the 2018 Americana Jack Emerson Lifetime Achievement Award for Executives. The women will be honored at the Americana Honors & Awards on Sept. 12 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

Olivia Records quickly skyrocketed as one of the industry’s leading independent labels during the 1970s, releasing and distributing 40-plus albums and selling around one million records from artists including Cris Williamson, Meg Christian, and June Millington. One of the label’s releases, Williamson’s The Changer and the Changed, featuring groundbreaking songs about same-sex love, became one of the best-selling independent releases of all time.

The staffers of Olivia Records, including Dlugacz, Williamson, Meg Christian, Ginny Berson, Jennifer Woodul and Kate Winter, proudly served at the forefront of the women’s music movement.
