Big Machine Label Group founder Scott Borchetta will serve as a mentor during the Final Challenge phase of the NASH Next Competition, which will discover and release new music from promising country artists. The winner of the competition will be signed to the new NASH Next record label. The three previously announced judges include producer James Stroud, Kix Brooks (of Brooks & Dunn) and Cumulus Senior Vice President of Content and Programming Mike McVay.
The NASH Next Challenge grand-prize winner will be announced on Dec. 7, and all 10 finalists (listed below) will participate in a national NASH Next concert tour in 2016. The winner will be decided based on a combination of scores from the music industry judges, an original “Spin Index” of social media activity and online fan voting.
Today (Oct. 28) marks the beginning of the Final Challenge, where the 10 finalists will begin the NASH Next Music Video Challenge. Each band will produce an original music video that incorporates computer animation or motion design under Borchetta’s mentorship.
NASH Next marks the latest expansion of Cumulus’ NASH entertainment and lifestyle brand, and is NASH’s second launch into the recorded music business – joining the NASH Icon label at Big Machine Label Group.
