The Ryan Huie Fund has donated $5,000, via MusicCares, to the Billy Block Family Fund. Block was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

The Ryan Huie Fund was established in honor of CAA Agent John Huie’s late son Ryan Huie. John Huie stated that in honor of Ryan, they asked people to donate to the fund in lieu of flowers, in order to help people.

Play One For Billy, a fundraiser and musical tribute to Billy Block, will be held Sunday, May 4 at The Listening Room Café from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member Allen Shamblin.

The Producer’s Chair host James Rea has organized a series of online master songwriters interviews, dubbed “The Business of Songwriting,” aimed at giving an insider’s view into the craft of songwriting.

Interviews featuring songwriters Allen Shamblin, Mark Sanders and Deric Ruttan. Shamblin has penned 13 Top 10 songs, more than 150 cuts, and six No. 1 songs, including Miranda Lambert’s “The House That Built Me.” Sanders has penned 50 singles and more than 200 cuts, including Lee Ann Womack‘s “I Hope You Dance.”  Ruttan, who has had songs recorded by Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Gary Allan and others.

Stylist Claudia Robertson Fowler launched a new clothing boutique, HERO, in the 12 South District of Nashville. This boutique follows her first boutique store HAVEN, which was established in Franklin, Tenn. in 2006. Fowler’s 25-year career includes styling Faith Hill, Miranda Lambert, Trisha Yearwood, Alan Jackson, Julie Roberts, Martina McBride and others.

SESAC hosted a standing-room-only Music Licensing panel during the 2014 Nashville Film Festival. The panel featured music supervisors discussing the process of identifying and placing music for television and motion pictures. The panel was moderated by music supervisor, Anastasia Brown. The Nashville Film Festival is an annual event that showcases the work of independent, international filmmakers and screenwriters as well as offering film screenings, industry panels, music showcases, parties and receptions, and workshops.
